Beyond the Behavior

When humans with trauma histories act out, there is typically more going on than what’s visible on the surface. Beyond the Behavior is an educational training generously brought to you The Barry Robinson Center, in partnership with ATTACh and Tidewater Friends of Foster Care, that dives into what’s going on below the surface to give foster parents, care takers, and professionals additional perspective and tools to stay calm in high stress moments and support the long-term healing of kids in foster care.

Healthy Relationships

As humans, relationship is as essential to our wellbeing as food and water.  We have all been in relationships and felt the joy of good ones and the pain of broken relationships. But how do we know when a relationship is broken to the point of not only being unhealthy, but in fact criminal?

Relationship is defined as the way in which 2 or more people are connected and dependent on one another.  When are the highs and lows of a relationship leading to one person in that relationship to be victimized and what are the warning signs that a relationship is headed in that direction?  These are the questions we will explore.
